New York, NY (Top40 Charts) This morning, NPR First Listen premiered The Order of Time, the highly anticipated new album from acclaimed singer-songwriter,
Valerie June. Due March 10th, 2017 from Concord Records, June's first album in three years blends southern sounds, African rhythms and ambient atmospherics into an absorbing, soulful reflection on love, family, struggle and the passing of time. NPR praised the new album, calling it "a marvel of mindfulness," adding "June's musical imagination is a world to get lost in."

Expanding on the electric tones of June's 2013 breakthrough, Pushin' Against A Stone, the Tennessee-bred, Brooklyn-based songwriter infused The Order of Time with wide-open, ethereal soundscapes; an intimate, inviting backdrop for these richly detailed character studies and June's one-of-a-kind voice.
The Order of Time has been met with impressive early acclaim. The Guardian's 4-STAR review said the new album "finds June full of childlike wonderment amid a gloriously ethereal atmosphere reminiscent of Van Morrison's Astral Weeks. Fantastic stuff." Okayplayer called June "A true star in the making," and Slant Magazine's impassioned 4.5 STAR review enthused, "A triumph of form, The Order of Time is through and through a completely idiosyncratic take on American roots music, steeped in its tradition but not beholden to it."
