New York, NY (Top40 Charts) In response to the recent surge in xenophobic sentiment, underground musical duo The Blemish releases the music video to their debut single, "Gorgeous." The gritty video, made entirely of actual footage from the duo's live shows, calls attention to the struggles that Muslim- and Asian-American musicians face in an industry dominated by black and white artists.

The Blemish is the result of an intercontinental sonic collision between Azerbaijani producer Emin "M" Karimi and Taiwanese-American singer-songwriter Bo Haan. The two met via the power of the internet, and within one short year, the two hunkered down in their Los Angeles apartments and produced their eponymous debut album "The Blemish," featuring the critically-acclaimed lead single "Gorgeous."

Described as a perfect amalgamation of Flume and Bruno Mars, or Disclosure and Michael Jackson, the duo's debut single "Gorgeous" has received high accolades. The venerable EQ Music Blog lauds: "classic, smooth electronica has not been done like this in a long time … you get to hear the whole vocal power of Bo Haan… not many guys who can produce their own music have a pleasant voice (we're not naming names). But, Bo's voice is GORGEOUS!" Music industry veteran Christian Burkholder said of the duo: "it's rare to find someone who can write, produce, and at the same time sing and dance and blow your socks off with their live performances."

Another single off the album, "Backup Man," has been picked up and featured on NPR, MSNBC, NextShark, and Huffington Post as the lead song of the short film "It's Asian Men!" - a socially-conscious romcom poking fun at mainstream media's portrayal of Asian men as emasculated, nerdy caricatures of a whole people. The Blemish's front man, attorney-turned-tunesmith Bo Haan, said of the NPR experience: "it's quite an honor to be a guest on a radio station that you listen to on a daily basis as a representative of your people - I got a good laugh out of having to go on national radio just to remind people that I'm, well, manly."

The Blemish is available now on iTunes, Spotify, and all other major music outlets. Meanwhile, the duo continues to tour in support of the album, with an upcoming show on March 17 at the intimate Bar 20 inside The Grafton on Sunset, followed by an April show at Hollywood's favorite hideout, The Study.
