25 Artists Up For Best Independent Album Of The Year In Europe

New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Independent Music Awards [The IMAs], the influential platform for self-released and indie label artists today announced a new category honoring the best independent Debut Album has been added to The 16th annual IMAs, currently accepting submissions at:

The new Debut Album category adds to The IMAs extensive list of honors awarded to new Album, Song, EP, Music Video, Music Producer, Photography & Design projects released by established and rising artists from around the world.

To celebrate the new category launch, a Free bonus Song entry is offered to Debut Album submissions entered by April 14th at: And all entries in this new category will be promoted throughout the year to fans, programmers, reviewers and talent buyers throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia.

"An album is much more than a collection of tunes. It's a bold artistic statement that reflects the band's personality, talent, and what they consider to be their best work to date. For Artists on the rise, the Debut Album is a critical step for grabbing industry attention, booking a successful tour & building a loyal fanbase. That's why we'll be shining an extra spotlight on Debut Albums throughout this year's program," said Martin Folkman, Executive Director of The Independent Music Awards.

The Music Industry Has The Grammy's. Artists Have The IMAs
Now in its 16th year, The Independent Music Awards honor the artistry and innovation of self-released and indie label talent from around the globe. And connects them to new performance, promotion and distribution opportunities. Honors are awarded in 96 Album, Song, EP, Music Video, Producer and Design categories.

Entries are reviewed by high-profile Artists, Radio Programmers, Press, Film & TV Music Supervisors, Talent Buyers from US, Europe, Australia, Pacific Rim, and thousands of music consumers. Past Judges include: Tom Waits, Keith Richards, Tori Amos, Snoop Dogg, Keith Urban, Buddy Guy, Erykah Badu, Laurie Anderson, Norah Jones, Chris Thile and Ozzy Osbourne, among many others.

The program's online voting platform makes it easy for music consumers to discover and support new works by entrants, nominees and winners. IMA artists include: Macy Gray, Flying Lotus, Amy Lee, Meghan Trainor, Killer Mike, Passenger, Yemi Alade, Valerie June, All Hail the Yeti, Pokey LaFarge, JD McPherson, Girl In A Coma, fun., The Mud Howlers and Camila Meza to name a few.

Winners of The 16th Independent Music Awards will be announced on November 21st during The IMAs Independent Music Party at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City. Submission details available at
