ACM Alumni Celebrate Success At The Prestigious Music Week Awards 2017
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) As world leaders in music industry education, the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) are no strangers to celebrating the success of their students. With the success of their students and alumni at the BRIT awards earlier this year, it was no surprise that their talented student body and graduates dominated the prestigious Music Week Awards last night.

ACM sponsored the 'Music & Brand Partnership' category at the Music Week Awards which saw the success of Universal Music's Samsung/Years and Years campaign being recognised. ACM has always forged strong links with the music industry, and supported and encouraged its students to seek real world experience in as many areas of the industry as possible. This 'learning by doing' ethos, together with state-of-the-art facilities, and world-class tutors in the form of professional musicians, business men and women, and producers, has made ACM's offering so unique and, more importantly, successful.

On the night, numerous ACM graduates could be seen picking up awards, on the nominees list, playing on stage and, in true hands-on learning style, five current students were also seen working alongside Music Week ensuring smooth running of the event. Director of ACM, Oli Sussat said "We're so proud of all of our ACM students and graduates, both on and off the stage. They work hard to build life-long, sustainable careers for themselves under our guidance, and it's great to see their hard-work recognised at such a prestigious event."

Winners included Kobalt for the publisher of the year, where Music Business alumni Eve Fairley-Chickwe (A&R) and Keli Slade (Sync Manager) work. Following that, Music Business alumnus Russell Hunt joined Syco in collecting the award for 'Record Company of the Year'.
Those nominated also included: Island Records; where Music Business alumna Atlanta Cobb is a Marketing Assistant, Polydor for the 1975 featuring ACM alumnus Matt Healy, Kilmanjaro Live featuring Music Business alumna Karma Bertelsen for the 'Live Music Promoter' category and Absolute for the 'Label Artist Services Company' category where ACM Music Business alumna Marie Gloesener is a Claims and Research manager.

Alongside the nominees and winners, there were many talented graduates spotted at the event including Josh Edwards from Ministry of Sound, and the drummer for The Franklys/Screech Bats, Lexi Clark. ACM was also pleased to see many friends on the night including nominee and recent masterclass guest Adam Sigar from Noise Cartel, Ditto Music, and PIAS to name a few.

The awards concluded with a performance from rising star Ray Blk, accompanied by ACM Keys alumnus Kwaku Kusi. Fresh from the stage, he said: "It was pretty amazing, everyone seemed really into it. Ray Blk has quite a big buzz around her at the moment so it was great to be performing again, I just love being on the stage", he continued: "since I left ACM I've been touring with the likes of James Morrison, Rudimental, Ray Blk, Naughty Boy - a lot of signed artists."

ACM is incredibly proud to celebrate the success of so many talented music industry professionals over the past 22 years. From A&Rs to producers, and lawyers to publishers, ACM graduates can be seen in every corner of the music business, making waves and shaping the future of the industry.
