Keep Music Alive To Celebrate Make Music Day By Participating In Global Jam 4 Peace And Joining With The Magic Music Bus On June 21
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Music advocacy organization Keep Music Alive will help celebrate this year's Make Music Day by participating in the first annual Global Jam 4 Peace. Make Music Day first began in France 35 years ago as Fête De La Musique and has since spread to over 120 countries. Held every year on the Summer Solstice (June 21), the premise of Make Music Day is for amateur and professional musicians to share their musical gifts by performing in both indoor and outdoor venues where the public can celebrate the joy of music.

Keep Music Alive co-founder Vincent James will be performing at two events that evening, which will culminate with dozens of musicians performing the Global Jam 4 Peace anthem "Set Me Free" at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time at the Middletown Free Library in Media, Pa. They will be joining the hundreds, and possibly thousands of other locations worldwide participating in the first annual Global Jam by simultaneously performing the same song around the globe.

Earlier that day, Keep Music Alive will be meeting with Hungry for Music's Magic Music Bus at Accent Music in Wilmington, Del. The Magic Music Bus, dubbed "Big Bertha," is touring 100 cities in 48 states this summer to collect used musical instruments. In the past 20-plus years, Hungry for Music distributed more than 10,000 musical instruments to children who otherwise would not be able to afford an instrument. Big Bertha will be visiting Accent Music from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on June 21 to collect instruments.

Keep Music Alive is dedicated to promoting music for its educational value, therapeutic benefits and contribution to people's overall happiness. The organization has published the book series "88+ Ways Music Can Change Your Life," featuring over 100 inspirational music stories and quotations from around the world including a number of celebrities. It also founded Kids Music Day and Teach Music America Week, holidays where they partner with hundreds of music schools in the U.S. and Canada to offer free music lessons and special events to celebrate music.
