New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Atlanta-based Dixieland/Gypsy jazz artist Blair Crimmins released his new album You Gotta Sell Something! earlier this year via New Rag Records. Along with his 7-piece band The Hookers, You Gotta Sell Something! is their fourth studio record and delivers more of their signature supercharged ragtime and swing sound while also reaching into some new territory with gospel and soul. Today they released their new video for the album's title track which features a satirical take on commercialism in the music industry.

"The video takes us behind the scenes of a lively film set while front man Blair Crimmins is herded from scene to scene unable to control the swirling chaos around him," stated Glide Magazine who debuted the video. "While the long takes are impressive, equally impressive is the way Crimmins uses such a rowdy song as a piece of satire on commercialism in music. Anyone who's been to a massive music festival or attempted to listen to Top 40 radio can relate to the saturation of branding and overall commercialism that is pervasive in the music industry these days."

Blair Crimmins and The Hookers combine a unique blend of 1920's Dixieland jazz, ragtime, swing, gypsy guitar, stride piano, and a New Orleans style horn section that keeps the joint jumping while Crimmins sings in a lyrical style both humorous and sincere. It's a sound that is at once modern yet deeply rooted in the past, influenced by Crimmins' time as guitarist/frontman for alternative rockers Bishop Don. A multi-instrumentalist and a music academic, Crimmins has claimed in jest to be "possessed by a ghost who makes me play ragtime music."

You Gotta Sell Something! has been embraced by Southern Living, Relix, The Boot, and Folk Alley who raved "Get your dancing shoes on and slam down an energy drink because you will be itching to move."
