Rita Ora Goes Acoustic To Cover Calvin Harris' 'Slide'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Rita Ora gave Calvin Harris' hit single "Slide" an acoustic twist on Monday (July 17)! After debuting her single "Your Song" last month, the British pop star performed an acoustic cover of Calvin Harris' Frank Ocean and Migos-assisted smash "Slide" off Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1.
During the interview with "Elvis Duran and the Morning Show," Rita was joined by a guitarist for a stirring rendition of her cover, performing Frank and Quavo's portions of the track.

This was an interesting choice for Ora, who dated Harris in 2013 and 2014. At the time, the pop songstress revealed that the release of their collaboration "I Will Never Let Your Down" may have led to their break-up.
"There was a reason why I split up with him," she told Marie Claire. "And there was a reason why I'm at this point in my life where I feel like I have so much musical freedom, and I don't have to explain myself to anybody... It was more of a thing where I was in awe. I was at that point in my relationship where I felt he could do no wrong.
I thought he had my back and that he'd never steer me wrong," she continued. "But then 'I Will Never Let You Down' came out, and everything started to go a bit weird. I don't know if it was because business was mixed with personal or what."

Also, Rita claimed that Harris prevented her from performing "I Will Never Let You Down" at the Teen Choice Awards. "For anybody who doesn't understand how it works, he wrote and produced the song," she told "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" (via E! News). "So he has to approve anything TV-wise for anybody who doesn't get it. And obviously he owns the rights to it and he didn't approve the Teen Choice Awards."

Harris responded to these allegations on Twitter. "You'll only know 1 side of the story RE Teen choice awards because I choose not to talk to the papers about every aspect of my personal life," he tweeted. "But just know I had a damn good reason."
