Memphis Pysch-Rockers Spaceface Announce East Coast Tour
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) On the heels of an incredibly successful run of dates down the west coast, the dreamy five-piece known as Spaceface are back and this time they're headed north. Starting on August 25, the band will be gracing listeners with their genre bending brand of psych-rock with a string of dates from Charlotte, North Carolina to Cambridge, Massachusetts. The band continues to tour the country in support of their debut LP Sun Kids which they independently released this past spring to critical acclaim. Equipped with a state of the art light-show and a dedicated following that seems to grow larger by the day, Spaceface is poised to embark on what will surely be their wildest, weirdest, and most thrill-inducing tour to date.

"We're playing tons of places we've never played before and doing two festival slots which is awesome. The live show is actually totally different. With the new songs, I knew we had to have a different approach to the show so we upgraded from Christmas lights on a sort of timer to a bunch of video LED's that have sound reactive triggers set to different instruments on each song. So it's a lot brighter, more colorful and every tune is a different show. We added a few other surprises I like to keep secret until you're there as well."
- Jake Ingalls (lead singer and guitarist)

In addition to the tour, the band recently penned a distribution deal with the Baltimore, MD based indie label Friends Records (Flock of Dimes, Future Islands) who will be re-releasing Sun Kids on vinyl, as well as offering up a selection of cool, limited-edition merch to accompany the newly pressed wax. To celebrate the partnership, Spaceface will be playing a release show in Baltimore at Current Space on September 1st. Pre-orders of the album can be made via the Friends Records website right HERE. The band's lead singer Jake Ingalls, who also plays guitar and synth for The Flaming Lips, commented on the re-issue of Sun Kids and how the band came to link-up and partner with Friends Records:

"I hooked up with Jimmy (Friends Records) at a Flaming Lips show through my friend Alex from a group called Paperhaus, big in the DIY scene in D.C. Those two knew eachother well, so we hung out during the opener and after the show. We kept in touch and as we went along, we both realized that we should work together. I don't think they do re-releases as a label so it's new territory for both of us. Really it's more about just getting the physical records distributed throughout the US, UK and Australia - which is a really exciting idea to me that our record is gonna be sitting in a crate somewhere in Glasgow or something - ready to be discovered. I'm excited because Jimmy and I both have a lot of ideas to keep things interesting. Right now, we're working on having an entire remix LP to put out later this year."

Finally, to sweeten the deal even more, Spaceface will be releasing a special 3-D music video, created by the legendary Vinyl Williams in the coming weeks. In the meantime Sun Kids can be purchased through the band's website, or digitally on Bandcamp, iTunes and all major digital retailers; vinyl can be pre-ordered via the Friends Records website.

Biography:
Spaceface is a six piece psychedelic garage-rock band hailing from Memphis, TN. Fronted by singer-songwriter Jake Ingalls, a current member of the seminal rock band The Flaming Lips. Spaceface fuses 60 and 70's era psychedelia with the synth heavy pulses and textures of modern day electronic music. With an acid flashback inducing light show to add to their performance arsenal, the band released their highly anticipated, debut album Sun Kids earlier this year.
