Oddisee Debuts Music Video For "You Grew Up" From Latest LP 'The Iceberg'

New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Prolific MC and producer Oddisee released 'The Iceberg' (Mello Music Group) earlier this year to raves from the NY Times, New Yorker, Pitchfork, NPR and much more, and followed it with a massive international tour that took him across the globe.

Today he's released the video for "You Grew Up." The ambitious song traces the lives of people from different backgrounds and how, as they grow up, youthful innocence becomes susceptible to outside influences like race, religion, economic class. "You can raise a child in a house full of love, can't keep em safe in a world full of hate," Oddisee raps.

NPR premiered the video via a First Listen - watch it here:

Says NPR: "[Oddisee's] keen observational detail fuels his latest LP, 'The Iceberg' his latest video he distills America's ills by critiquing how society socializes all of us into darker versions of ourselves...[He] approached the song with a level of empathy rarely shown in a society quick to demonize views and cultures it doesn't understand."

Oddisee also just released a new track via Adult Swim's 2017 Singles series, called "Never Lived":, and his music is featured in the new video series Humans of New York.

Oddisee has released three studio albums, several EPs, mixtapes and instrumental albums, and has over 23 million plays on Spotify. He's been profiled by NPR, the Washington Post, praised by Pitchfork and Stereogum, performed on NPR's Tiny Desk, Red Bull Sound Select and at festivals including Glastonbury and Sasquatch. 'The Iceberg' follows two releases in 2016, the 'Alwasta EP' and the instrumentals album 'The Odd Tape.' His 2015 full-length 'The Good Fight' was a Top 10 album on the iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap chart and he won the iTunes Music Award for Best Hip-Hop Album of 2012.
