Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar & Dua Lipa Leads 2017 MTV Europe Music Awards Nominations

New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Taylor leads the EMAs nominations this year, receiving nods in six categories: Best US Act, Best Artist, Best Look, Best Pop, Biggest Fans, and Best Video (for Look What You Made Me Do). The latter accompanied her very first UK Number 1 single, which reached the top spot in August.

Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran and Shawn Mendes are all nominated for four trophies each, the latter in the mix for the new Best Canadian Act category with Alessia Cara, Justin Bieber, Drake and The Weeknd.

Dua Lipa is up for Best UK & Ireland Act, Best Look and Best New, while Ariana Grande, Fifth Harmony, Rag'n'Bone Man, Foo Fighters and Miley Cyrus are also nominated.

Rita Ora will host this year MTV EMAs when they are held in London on November 12. She was pretty ecstatic to be hosting, stating: "I'm so excited to be hosting this year's MTV EMAs in my hometown! I still remember how much fun my first EMAs was in Frankfurt in 2012, when I performed RIP. I can't wait to get back on the stage to host and perform."

Nominations are now open on the MTV website. Best US Act, Best Canadian Act and Best UK & Ireland act can only be voted for by fans in those respective territories, while MTV will themselves deliberate Best Video. Best Look and Biggest Fans will be social media votes.
