Last week, The Nashville Scene hosted their annual Best of Nashville awards where Blank Range was awarded the Writers' Choice for Best Rock Album. D. Patrick Rogers said, "Not only is Blank Range's long-awaited debut LP Marooned With the Treasure one of the most evocatively named local releases of 2017, it's also among the strongest. Noisey premiered "Opening Band," the first track to be released from the debut album. Annalise Domenighini said, "It's a great example of how, sometimes, a song just needs to be simple to be good... Jon Childers' vocals resemble a southern-fried Bob Dylan." Stereogum premiered "Ember In The Ash" and called it a "A sunrise slow-drift accented by weeping slide guitar."
