New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Ms Mohammed is not one to suffer fools gladly. Having reverted to her given surname after a period performing as Dana Jade, she is now confronting xenophobia and Islamophobia head-on, using both her music, live performances and political activism to challenge pre-conceptions about race, gender and sexuality.

Her Alibi E.P. is typified by the title track: thumping, exotic dhol drums surrounded by fuzzy, bluesy, set-to-stun guitars, leading the listener down velvet and gold-lined corridors to Ms. Mohammed's lair - a prospect which is equal parts thrilling and terrifying. Other themes on the EP include recurrent conflict around the world and a celebration of the feminine - none of which is at all cloying and which is both musically and lyrically incisive.
Ms Mohammed founded the Clit Rock movement in 2013 as a way of speaking out against female genital mutilation. As a champion of religious and cultural tolerance and supporter of LGBT rights, Ms Mohammed is challenging prejudice through her music.
