Forty Years Later 'The War Of The Roses' Is Even More Powerful As A Hit International Stage Play And Musical
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The iconic novel turned worldwide Hollywood hit about the perils of divorce and destructive power of materialism is as powerful today as it has ever been.
While the stage version of THE WAR OF THE ROSES continues its successful international tour, the highly-anticipated Hollywood film sequel, THE CHILDREN OF THE ROSES, also an adaptation of a novel by Warren Adler, is being produced by Grey Eagle Films.

The iconic novel turned worldwide Hollywood hit about the perils of divorce and destructive power of materialism is as powerful today as it has ever been. The play version of "The War of the Roses", based on the original book by Warren Adler, is currently running all over the world with new productions being prepared for Rome, Milan and Paris.

In Belgium, where divorce rates are now at a staggering 70% - the highest current rate of divorce in all of Europe, a hit musical iteration recently played to packed houses and a deal to roll out the Musical in 17 foreign language territories in Europe, Asia and South America was recently signed. In Germany alone, there have been 11 productions in the last 8 years. Watch the official Warren Adler brand video here.

Warren Adler comments, "I've received countless comments, letters, and emails from people who have read the book or seen the movie, many expressing their thanks for changing their lives in some way. Some confessed that they abandoned any idea of fighting over property in the course of their divorces. Best of all, some have told me that it caused reconciliation with their partners."

While the stage version of THE WAR OF THE ROSES continues its successful international tour, the highly-anticipated Hollywood film sequel, THE CHILDREN OF THE ROSES, also an adaptation of a novel by Adler, is being produced by Grey Eagle Films.

The sequel takes place twenty-five years after the chandelier-shattering deaths of Barbara and Oliver Rose in THE WAR OF THE ROSES and follows the painful path of their children, Josh and Evie, as they struggle to avoid making the same mistakes as their parents. The fully funded film sequel THE CHILDREN OF THE ROSES is in the final stages of hiring a director.

"We are in the midst of an equity raise to produce up to 4 other films adapted from master storyteller Warren Adler's treasure trove of more than 50 novels and 100 short stories and plays. All of his works deal with the conflicts and complexities of human relationships," said Jonathan R. Adler, CEO of Grey Eagle Films.

"The sequel bites into the issues of today," CEO Jonathan R. Adler points out. "This new battle is not about things, it is a fight to the heart of a family. This clash will determine who is worthy to get custody of the children."

THE WAR OF THE ROSES film made $160M in worldwide box office receipts in 1989, which in today's dollars is close to $330M. It has gone from a creative and financial success to becoming a global brand and catchphrase. The title has become synonymous with difficult break-ups in both family and business relationships and the brand name is still mentioned on a weekly basis by the worldwide media, becoming part of the modern lexicon to describe any marital or business break-up.
