Teri Roiger & John Menegon: The Music Of Duke Ellington, Thursday, 2-15 At 7:30, Admission Is Gratis, St. Peter's Church, NYC
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Teri and John have been collaborating musically for over 25 years, and have been sharing their knowledge and inspiration with their many students at the State University of New York (SUNY) in New Paltz (NY), Williams College (MA), and Bard College (NY). They have performed and taught master classes at Universities and Jazz Festivals around the world. The depth of their combined experience and love of jazz is apparent when they bring all their talents to live performances, the recording studio, their teaching, and in their original compositions.

"Teri has an intuitive laid back sense of time reminiscent of Abbey Lincoln and Betty Carter but with her own uniqueness." Jack DeJohnette (NEA Jazzmaster & Legendary Drummer)

"Canadian-bred John Menegon is in the line of George Mraz and Michael Moore; a harmonically sophisticated bassist with technical facility who swings hard when it's called for." Kirk Silsbee, Downbeat

"She (Teri Roiger) is made for those who still understand the meaning of the term the real thing." Stanley Crouch (Author & Cultural Critic)

"John Menegon's SEARCH LIGHT is witty, atmospheric, and thoroughly engaging from one end to the other. Menegon shows, without self-indulgence, that the bass can define the character of an ensemble as clearly and fully as any other instrument." Steven Robinson, AllAboutJazz
