Casio's February Artist Spotlight: Anthony Patterson
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) This month, Casio America, Inc., a leading innovator of electronic musical instruments, is excited to spotlight Anthony Patterson, a solo/collaborative pianist, composer/arranger and educator, as part of its Artist Program. Casio's Artist Program supports both aspiring and established musicians by providing them with the most innovative tools and technology to compose and perform their music, whether they are in the recording studio, performing on stage or traveling on tour.

Patterson began classical piano lessons at the age of three with his father, Richard Patterson, and made his concerto debut with the Lima Symphony at the young age of eight, playing Mozart's Concerto no. 28. Since then his talent and skillful piano playing has taken him around the world, leading him to record six albums for Chérie Noble (Brio Recordings), four of which are his own compositions, and has allowed him to play for Broadway touring shows like Wicked, The Color Purple and many more. Also, just this past November he performed Carmina Burana and Chichester Psalms with the National Chorale at David Geffen Hall at New York City's Lincoln Center.

"All of Casio instruments, especially the Privia and Celviano lines, have such incredible action," said Patterson. "I am a classical pianist and I usually have to use a nine-foot concert grand, and in lieu of that, I get the same touch and sound from Casio's products. It is truly an art form to capture the sound of a grand piano and Casio has done that with its keyboards."

Patterson currently owns and uses a variety of Casio instruments, including the Privia PX-5S, the Privia PX-350 and the Celviano GP-500, all of which have become staples in his musical career over the years. Next up on his musical roster is a dual piano concert, using both a nine-foot grand piano and Casio's GP-500 Grand Hybrid digital piano, on March 24, 2018 at Alma College in Michigan, where he has been an Artist in Residence since 1995. Both Patterson and his wife, Casey Robards who is also a professional pianist, will perform a mix of traditional two-piano music and original dance compositions that will be accompanied with performances by the Third Coast Dance Company.

"Casio is very proud to be a part of a musical career as multifaceted and expansive as Anthony's," said Stephen Schmidt, vice president of Casio's Electronic Musical Instrument division. "Every artist within Casio's Artist Program is exceptional and their unique talents help bring Casio keyboards and digital pianos to life. We are thrilled to be able to provide these musicians with the tools they need for each of their musical journeys."

Patterson is part of the current roster of Casio artists including Roshon, ThunderSOUL Orchestra, Rachael Sage, Aaron Todd, Tom Brislin, Eldar Djangirov, and more.
