New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Sample Entertainment) Indonesian music and film producer Benny Simanjuntak of Sample Entertainment, Los Angeles, California, collaborates with Grammy Award-winning engineer Tom Weir to produce the new singer and artist,
Sandy Simangunsong.
Much of Pacific Asia already knows Benny - he's created a positive reputation over the years as a successful music promoter, talent manager, philanthropist and mentor to recording artists, actors and international stars. Among other things, he's known for his successful TV show "ABU TV Song," which goes to Indonesian villages to discover world-class talent.
Benny's new song, performed by
Sandy Simangunsong, "Atik Na Ho" - meaning "if you" in the Batak language of North Sumatra (Indonesia) - is a big, powerful ballad originally made famous by Indonesian songwriter Tagor Tampubolon and lyricist Jasuha Simanjuntak.
Aiming for international success, Benny brought on world-class musicians: composer Andre Lizt (Asia's Got Talent), drummer Matt Laug (Alanis Morrissette, Melissa Etheridge, Alice Cooper), bassist Paul Bushnell (Faith Hill, Jewel, Shakira), violinist Anna Kostyuchek and guitar virtuoso Tim Pierce (Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Santana,
Christina Aguilera, Avril Lavigne).
"We are proud of the success we've had so far in Indonesia, and we are looking forward to expanding our Batak music internationally with this special song, 'Atik Na Ho,'" said Benny Simanjuntak.
Music video and single expected to be released at the end of March 2018.
