SZA's Father Moved To Tears Listening To 'Broken Clocks'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) SZA's first proper full-length Ctrl dropped in a big way last summer, quickly catapulting the New Jersey singer-songwriter to superstardom and, ultimately, the Grammy stage, where she was nominated five awards and performed an impressive rendition "Broken Clocks."
Sitting in his car wearing a "Ctrl" tour hat, Abdul Mubarak-Rowe listened to his daughter's Ctrl single while tears rolled down his face. "Every time I hear this song, sweetie, I'm in tears," he said. "I love this song. I love your whole album but this is one of my favorite songs. Every time I hear this song, I'm in tears."

SZA retweeted the emotional video along with a heartfelt message. "Really love u daddy," she wrote. "Thank u for loving ME! Forever my favorite warrior."

The TDE songstress has had an interesting relationship with her father over the years. "It's taken a lot of different forms," she told Mass Appeal of their bond back in 2014. "Now we just like smoke together, and chill. We're just past a lot of shit. I'm too old for it, and he's too old. We don't have any energy to beef with each other so we just hang out.
"I think my dad is just a very logical person," she added. "He's very learned. He tries to arm me with knowledge."

SZA is currently sitting at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 with her Kendrick Lamar collaboration "All the Stars" off Black Panther: The Album, which is leading the Billboard 200 for the second week in a row.
