Evanescence "Synthesis Live" Tour With Orchestra Kicks Off March 30th
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) In what promises to be the biggest year for EVANESCENCE yet, the group's "Synthesis Live" tour kicks off in the UK with two sold out nights at the Royal Festival Hall on March 30th and 31st.
Few people in rock music have the pipes of vocalist Amy Lee. Her soulful tone and distinguished sound are as identifiable as they are unique, and this time the band will be bringing a live orchestra and electronic programming out on the road with them, conducted by Susie Benchasil Seiter. Lee says "This will be our first time touring with orchestra and I'm so excited to perform this way-really focus on the vocals, and the emotion and the story we've built over the years"

Reviews from the US and Australian legs of the tour have been ecstatic, with Variety commenting that "Evanescence lead singer Amy Lee made the leap from goth-rocker to opera diva last night, when she and the band led a 28-piece orchestra through a sold-out performance at the Greek Theatre. Lee firmly re-establishes herself as one of rock's pre-eminent vocalists, exhibiting an impressive range that still packs a wallop ….she and the ensemble turn the familiar material--including crowd favorites like the GRAMMY-winning 'Bring Me To Life,' 'My Immortal,' 'Lithium' and 'Your Star'--into full-throttle, wide-screen epics, with themes of loss, guilt and self-doubt enlarged to tragedy on the Greek's proscenium. The arrangements substitute strings, woodwinds, brass, synths and drum machines for electric guitars and bass, a synthesis of rock, classical and EDM."

The Sydney Morning Herald noted about their Opera House concert that ""With the theatrics up front and their old goth accents taking a back seat, the show presented Lee in the way she was perhaps always meant to be heard. 4****"

EVANESCENCE released SYNTHESIS, their fourth and most ambitious album to date in November last year. The band - lead singer-songwriter and pianist Amy Lee, bassist Tim McCord, drummer Will Hunt, lead guitarist/backing vocalist Troy McLawhorn and guitarist Jen Majura along with producers Will Hunt and orchestra arranger and composer David Campbell reworked classic Evanescence tracks along with two new songs, the first of which, entitled "Imperfection" can be heard HERE. The album includes a guest performance by celebrated violinist Lindsey Stirling on "Hi-Lo" the other new song on the album.

AMY LEE explains the meaning behind "Imperfection," "For me, this is the most important song on the album. It's for all the people we've lost, all the people who we could lose, to suicide and depression. I'm singing from the perspective of the person left behind, the person in the waiting room. It's a plea to fight for your life, to stay. Don't give into the fear- I have to tell myself that every day. Nobody is perfect. We are all imperfect, and it's precisely those imperfections that make us who we are, and we have to embrace them because there's so much beauty in those differences. Life is worth fighting for. You are worth fighting for."

About EVANESCENCE:
Formed in the mid-90's, the two-time GRAMMY Award-winning EVANESCENCE has made an impact on people around the world. The band was integral in establishing a global, critical mass for women in rock. The group's 2003 landmark debut album Fallen laid the foundation; spending 43 weeks on the Billboard Top 10. The album has sold more than 17 million copies worldwide and was certified 7x platinum in the U.S. Debut single and global hit "Bring Me to Life," reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 as well as marking their first U.K. #1 hit single. The equally popular "My Immortal" peaked at #7 in the U.S. and U.K. The album produced four singles total including "Going Under" (#5 U.S. Modern Rock, #8 U.K.) and "Everybody's Fool" (#36 U.S. Modern Rock, #23 U.K.). Fallen is one of only eight albums in the history of the chart to spend at least a year on the Billboard Top 50, it spent 104 weeks on the Billboard 200 and is #32 on the "Greatest of All Time, Billboard 200."

EVANESCENCE has won two GRAMMY Awards including "Best New Artist" and "Best Hard Rock Performance," out of a total of seven career nominations. Following multiple worldwide tours, EVANESCENCE released their first live album, Anywhere But Home, which sold more than one million copies worldwide. Next, the band released their second studio album, The Open Door, which went on to sell more than five million copies. Their self-titled third album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. After touring European festivals and shows in 2016 and early 2017, EVANESCENCE--lead singer-songwriter and pianist AMY LEE, bassist TIM MCCORD, drummer WILL HUNT, lead guitarist/backing vocalist TROY MCLAWHORN and guitarist JEN MAJURA—go down both very new and familiar paths for their fourth and most ambitious release to date, SYNTHESIS.
