Dark Pop Duo Vowws Premiering "Structure Of Love" Video
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) LA-by-way-of-Sydney, Australia industrial/dark pop duo VOWWS are premiering a new video for their song "Structure of Love" on Grimy Goods. The track appears on the band's recent 'Under The World' LP, which was recorded with Kevin McMahon (SWANS, Titus Andronicus, The Walkmen) and is out now on Anti-Language Records.
'Under The World' is streaming on Spotify at: https://open.spotify.com/album/5NpNFHad7QE7n82smGN1W9?si=Oof3NQ_FQsWMr_ey3VMWtA .

Costa Rican born Rizz, one half of the duo that makes up VOWWS, says: "The theme of isolation is strong in a lot of the stuff surrounding this release. Parts of this video were shot on location in Bombay Beach and The Sultan sea. If you read up on what happened there it's pretty nuts. For some reason we always seek out the places that time forgot, so we rented an old vintage RV, very basic with no toilet or water, just a shell we could drag around and sleep in."

She adds, "This song is about paranoid love, obsession, idealization and the hopelessness it can bring. We couldn't truly confront those ideas and do what we needed to do with anyone else around to help. We couldn't have a hotel room lined up either or think about anything besides what we were doing so we took some shrooms and went for it. It was all pretty surreal, I couldn't remember much of what happened until we got back home two days later and was able to look at the footage.... I was like wtf... but we went with it and created this sort of psychedelic desert nightmare."

VOWWS is playing their first local show since returning from tour tonight (May 4) at The Echo. See additional shows below.

Upcoming shows:
May 7 @ The Echo LA
May 31 @ Lethal Amounts Gallery LA (Jesse Draxler "Misophonia" release party and art opening) feat. DJ sets from Chelsea Wolfe, Joshua Eustis (Telefon Tel Aviv) and Rizz of VOWWS
June 15 @ The Lash LA
July 27 @ Resident LA

What others are saying about VOWWS:
"VOWWS isn't a band that allows for a definitive genre: the tracks are industrial and synth-filled, yet with eerie undertones that make the mood foreboding enough to rival the catchier elements...a strange concoction that explores everything from dark new wave to dreamy synthpop."- Cvltnation
"...heavy, mysterious, sinister but inviting, brimming with dark sexuality that'll have you scrambling for your leather jacket and vintage black light before the first chorus."- Pop Matters
"...a guitar-heavy, strung-out take on industrial music with nods to your favorite '80s goth kings."- Miami New Times
"...the Los Angeles based duo Vowws, are becoming a formidable force in electronic music."- Post-Punk
"...shadowy, distortion-filled pop songs.."- Cool Hunting
"...their modern gothic songs are rife with the tension of international and personal unrest"- Black Book
"VOWWS are here to fk you up..."- Top40-Charts.com
" Together, the duo craft a booming industrial sound, heavy percussion and synths darkening a subtly pop structure."- Consequence of Sound

About VOWWS:
With their new album, 'Under the World,' VOWWS craft their dark pop masterpiece - a cinematic, stylish and menacing statement of intent. Drawing upon influences as diverse as classic western, electronica, surf rock, metal, and film music, the enigmatic duo weave disparate threads of cultural influence together into a tapestry of drama, imagination and surprising warmth - only to deconstruct them again in front of your ears.
Under the World was largely recorded with friend, mentor and engineer Kevin S. McMahon at his New Paltz, NY studio - building upon a symbiotic relationship formed while piecing together their debut, 2015's The Great Sun - a dirty, grinding and swaying work featuring guest appearances by electronic music legend Gary Numan and Swans' percussionist Thor Harris.
This time around VOWWS took on a more prominent role in producing and mixing the record, but the timeless influence of McMahon and his weatherworn New Paltz studio/barn is still present. Under the World deliberately eschews any obvious Post-Punk and Industrial tropes, instead allowing space for its stylish hooks, direct vocals and rich textures to shine. It was released on the band's own label, Anti-Language Records on March 2nd, 2018.
