NEW YORK (www.soniav.com) Indie Rocker, Sonia V releases her long anticipated debut CD "A Thing Or 2" today via Atomic Planet Records. Already receiving thumbs up from radio, media and fans, the title track pre-released first single to rock & college radio, "A Thing Or 2", took the #1 spot on the National Alternative/Modern Rock Charts as reported by American Christian Music Journal (ACMJ) as well as hitting #1 on many individual radio stations worldwide. The song also appeared on the standard rock chart at ACMJ. VH-1's Save the Music Foundation's international "Song of the Year Contest" recognized the title track for Sonia's exceptional songwriting and she was named one of the top suggested artists to listen to.

Sonia competed against songwriters from all over the world for this honor. The "Song of the Year" judges are some of the biggest names in music including many Grammy Award winners. The CMC Music Awards along with well-known Christian artists Plumb, Charity Von and Sarah Kelly also recently nominated Sonia for "Female Rock/Alternative Vocalist of the Year". She will be performing and speaking at the American Christian Music Awards in September 2005. A former Gospel Music Association songwriting winner, she won the "CCM Song of 2002" with her song "You Are My Life" in the Nashville Regional Academy which was hosted by Margaret Becker. The song made it's way onto several compilation projects including "The Truth Comes Out" CD, an official resource of Exodus International and Focus on the Family Organization, and an independent Christian film "I Do Exist" by producers of "The Truth Comes Out" project.

The new CD "A Thing Or 2" possesses a flavor of it's own amid the girl-band craze currently swarming the airwaves. With an unmistakable female rock voice, Sonia V takes modern rock into more cutting edge territory by emulating music that captivates pop culture and MTV viewers to reach a modern day audience with approachable songs that satisfy the rock lovers pallet with crossover appeal. She's often been described as "a Jesus chick with attitude" - after you hear those powerhouse vocals and funky vibrato quiver, you'll find it hard to compare her to any other female artist in the industry. "A Thing Or 2" includes all original modern rock tunes penned by Sonia V as well as a few co-writes with music friends including producer Chris Shandrow (The Frantics, Goodbye Audio, Miss Angie, Stereo Deluxx), independent artist friend Teresa Garcia and Jerome Fontamillas of Switchfoot, Fold Zandura and Mortal.

The second single release to rock and pop radio, "Superstar", makes it's way to airwaves today. Many stations have already begun reporting the song in heavy rotation.

Sonia will be touring several cities this year and appearing at various music festivals including Cornerstone Music Festival in Bushnell, IL, and Joshuafest in Quincy, CA. Celebrating the release of "A Thing Or 2", Sonia V will be appearing on Orlando Florida's TV 52 Television program, "Today's Family" with a special interview and performance of several songs from the new album.

Sonia V is the host of the national syndicated rock radio show called "The Indie Rock Show." This year will also include monthly mini tours where she will take the IRS on the road with some of the best and brightest of Indie bands. Two tours are currently lined up. Look for her on the road with Blissed, Nineteen88 & Phoenix from April 30th-May 8th. Then she will be with Rae and another artist TBA from May 28th-June 5th.
