New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Entertainment Weekly recently premiered the video for Alicia Witt's "Younger," the first single off her anticipated EP 15,000 DAYS, out on August 24. Witt notes, "I think that the best music videos take a song that means something specific to you when you first hear it, and then put an entirely different spin on it through the video. When I wrote this song, I was inspired by a feeling I had towards someone I felt very close to; this sense that the barriers put up there come from a place of fear, a place of thinking that they have to be the version of themselves that everyone expects, rather than connecting fearlessly with the authentic self.

15,000 DAYS is the length of time Alicia had lived when she recorded the album. The five songs that comprise 15,000 DAYS are rooted in the lessons learned during that life spent onstage, behind the piano, in front of the camera, in love, out of love, and en route from one destination to another. Combined, those songs tell the story of a journey - one that's both personal and musical, ultimately leading to a more mature perspective and fully developed sound. Grammy-winning producer Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Norah Jones,
James Bay) brought an ethereal quality to Witt's work, beefing up the songs' arrangements with percussive loops, '80s keyboards, stacked harmonies, and even a string quartet. Throughout the process, they remained true to Witt's talent as a first-rate instrumentalist and vocalist. With songs whose personal lyrics help shine a light on universal themes, 15,000 DAYS is Witt's most poignant material to date. The EP follows her 2015 album Revisionary History, which was produced by songwriter and fellow-piano pounder Ben Folds.
While other aspiring actresses were waitressing, Witt, a classically trained pianist, supported herself with a recurring gig at the Beverly
Wilshire Hotel, where her repertoire included show tunes, big band numbers, and pop standards. The experience felt like an education in the best music of the past, giving Witt a steady foundation upon which to build her own songs. Meanwhile, her acting career flourished, which began at age 7 with the film Dune. Witt appeared in Twin Peaks, enjoyed a multi-year run in the TV series Cybill, and went on to earn numerous TV and film credits (Ally McBeal, Law and Order, Justified, The Walking Dead, Two Weeks Notice, Mr. Holland's Opus, The Sopranos).
