Brooklyn Indie Pop Band Gamblers Releases New Single "Heavenly Mouse Routine"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today Brooklyn-based indie pop band Gamblers released their single "Heavenly Mouse Routine." Premiering at New Noise, the track is off their upcoming Corinthian Order EP which is out September 7th.

The band draws on the eclectic musical backgrounds of its members to put a unique spin on a rock and roll fundamentals. Frontman Michael McManus is an accomplished hip-hop producer who has worked extensively with Heems (Das Racist, Swet Shop Boys) and has production credits on Viceland's Gaycation and Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown. The line up is rounded out by Gary O'Keefe (lead guitar, backing vocals, production), Boris Palacios (guitar, keyboard, production), and Evan O'Donovan (guitar, keyboard, backing vocals).

"The song has a pulsing, repeating beat to it, and that fits well with the overall meaning of the song itself," McManus explains of "Heavenly Mouse Routine." "Lyrically, the idea of comparing human beings to mice came from our long history of commuting in places like Penn Station and Grand Central in NYC. There is something about the rhythm of people shuffling along in the city that becomes ingrained in you as a New Yorker. The idea that we have to live these lives of routine to try to earn a living and make sense of our existence is at the core of this song."

Bedford + Bowery recently premiered the title track from the Corinthian Order EP, while The Deli praised the song's "Beach Boys-esque vocals that coo and assure the world that everything's all right," and called it "an updated take on a classic sound, fusing indie-pop with sentiments that were mastered by previous generations of artists."

Shot in the defunct Brooklyn DIY venue Suburbia, the "Corinthian Order" video was directed by Tyler Walker. McManus met Walker while he was working at the Peter McManus Cafe in Manhattan, which Michael's family has owned and operated since 1936. "I was actually waiting on their table and I overheard them talking about shooting music videos," McManus explains. "I introduced myself and we set up a meeting and just took it from there, they're really talented." Tyler Walker also directed the band's striking animated video for "We're Bound to Be Together," which was featured as a Vimeo Staff Pick upon its release.
The Corinthian Order EP is out September 7th.
