Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter V" Is Eligible For Platinum Certification!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Lil Wayne blessed fans with Tha Carter V in late September after a lengthy legal battle with Cash Money and threats to leak the project by Pharmabro Martin Shkreli. Wayne didn't disappoint with Tha Carter V, and a lot of people would argue this is one of Wayne's best projects in the past decade. The album marked another number one debut for Weezy and now, the rapper celebrates the project reaching platinum.
Less than two months after its release, Lil Wayne's latest album is eligible for platinum status after moving one million units. While the RIAA has yet to officially certify the project, Wayne celebrated the news on Instagram.

"THANK YOU !!" a grateful Weezy told his 10 million followers.

C5, which spawned the Swizz Beatz-produced hit "Uproar," debuted at No. 1 with 480,000 equivalent album units following its release in September and scored the second-biggest streaming week ever for an album.

Weezy, who recently performed on "SNL" and at Travis Scott's Astroworld Festival, has since released a trio of bonus tracks off Tha Carter V including collaborations with Post Malone and Gucci Mane.
He can also be heard "Amen" off the newly-released Creed II: The Album.
