New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Rising soulful singer songwriter Joel Baker releases 'Winter Dreams' EP today alongside the stunning visuals for new single 'Rupi Kaur'.
A songwriter instilled in the narrative arc of his songs and an exceptional storyteller born of personal experience, Joel Baker continues to hone his craft with the emotive collection of tracks on the 'Winter Dreams' EP.

Lead single 'Rupi Kaur' encapsulates his intimate story telling style, as Joel notes, "One particularly dull day I got a drunk text and then a phone call from a girl who wanted to make sure I knew I was a dick. The song is called Rupi Kaur because the girl was the type to post Rupi quotes on Instagram. Fresh flowers from Columbia Rd. Oat Milk everything. Edgy and authentic gadgets from Urban Outfitters. Insta story after Insta story of fortune cookie, philosophy. For the record I love Rupi Kaur. In fact it was the girl's "Rupi Kaur reading heart" that I was so enamoured by, but It didn't work out."

Produced by Joel, 'Rupi Kaur' is released alongside a superb video for the track filmed with Joel's favourite visual collaborator George Baxter between his two "homes", Nottingham & London. From the upbeat soundscape of 'Don't Leave' to the sensitivity of 'Kites'; the reworking of classic song 'Can't Hurry Love' completes the feel of 'The Winter Dreams' EP.

A former Labour Party speech writer, singer-songwriter, musician and producer Joel Baker was discovered by Radio 1 bosses after sending his demos into the station in embossed parliamentary envelopes. Since Joel came on the scene he has racked up millions of steams, landed countless radio playlist spots with Radio 1 and 1Xtra and been championed by everyone from MistaJam and Huw Stephens through i-D and Clash, to Taylor Swift (who included No One In Heaven in her 'Songs Taylor Loves' Spotify playlist). He has also featured a wealth of hotly tipped collaborators from Tottenham emcee Abra Cadabra to Sneakbo, RK and rising R&B chanteuse Mahalia.
Joel's momentum is set to continue throughout 2019 with the release of debut album in the summer.
