New York, NY (Top40 Charts) On Wednesday, November 28th, 2018 at 10 PM CST, Ditty TV will broadcast the world television premiere of Duane Betts' video for "Downtown Runaround," as part of the network's program, The Curve. It will be rebroadcast the following day, Thursday, November 29, at 10 AM CST.
The video, directed by Todd Labrowski, was filmed in and around Sarasota, Florida- Betts'childhood hometown- and includes live footage from Sarasota's Five O'Clock Club and a concert performance earlier in the year from Charlotte, North Carolina. As the second single from the independent Americana artist's debut EP, Sketches of American Music, Betts has revealed the song "is about the struggle, and I've had my fair share of it. I have always felt loved and supported in Sarasota, so making this video there was a beautiful experience."
The video was shot during a short August break from his world tour with the Devon Allman Project that has seen Betts, the son of
Allman Brothers Band co-founder Dickey Betts, perform at such heralded venues as NYC's Beacon Theatre and Colorado's Red Rocks and a summer trek of
Europe with stops in Spain, Germany and the U.K.
The tour will close out 2018 with a 12-show string of Western U.S. dates beginning December 2 in Phoenix, and concludes the year with a six-show holiday run starting December 26 in St. Louis and wrapping up New Year's Eve in Macon, Georgia.
Additionally, the video's release coincides with ongoing pre-ordering on Betts' website for a limited vinyl pressing of Sketches. Only 500 of the special blue-splatter edition EPs- numbered, and signed by Betts- will be issued, due to ship in late-November, and available for order on www.duanebetts.com.
