Lila Drew Releases New Video And Single November Out Now!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Following the release of her debut single, the Goldlink-featured 'faded/2AM' which Zane Lowe hailed as "a major statement," with High Snobiety proclaiming, "after today there's no way you'll forget her name," rising artist Lila Drew returns with her very first music video for new song, 'november,' premiering today on Ladygunn Magazine following its debut on Apple Music earlier this week.

The video was directed by up and coming teen artist, Manon Macasaet, who makes her directorial debut with 'november,' a colorful and fun video evoking all sorts of nostalgia with a playful nod to late 90s-era technology and animation. Talking about the inspiration behind the video, Lila Drew explains;
"This video kind of came about in a daydream. I was doing homework and spacing out - the video idea came to me in that moment! I opened up notes in my phone and typed out this concept as fast as I could, imagining an old computer with different graphics moving through it. 'November' is a really nostalgic song for me and it encapsulates so many aspects of childhood innocence and that unregulated freedom you have as a young kid. I wanted to keep the nostalgic vibe in the video, using classic y2k elements (which was the year I was born!). I had also just finished my 'faded/2am' zine, and was really inspired by that fluid and visual-heavy format, and I thought it would be cool to have the video feel the same way. I think the video is how my mind would've looked when I was growing up - carefree and colorful with bits of teenage boredom and a longing to be that young again."

As with her first single, "november" was co-produced with Michael "Mighty Mike" McGarity (Lana Del Rey, FKA twigs, Miguel among others) and mixed by Grammy Award-winning Derek "Mixed by Ali" (SZA, Kendrick Lamar), acting as the perfect follow up to 'faded/2am,' a stunning, minimalisticR&B jam. Talking about his collaboration, GRAMMY-nominated American rapper Goldlink added "Lila is one of the most refreshing new voices in music, and I jumped at the opportunity to work together on her new single."

What started as a voice memo on her iPhone when en route to the recording studio one evening has quickly become one of the most intimate and soulful songs to emerge in 2018. On the collaboration, 18-year-old London-born Lila reveals. "Goldlink has always been one of my favorite rappers. I love the intersection of jazz, hip-hop and dance in his music and was blown away when he heard my music and agreed to collaborate. He really understood what the song needed and brought it to life."

Lila has come along to jolt us from our slumber, while taking her musical influences and turning them into something fresh, sophisticated, and above all else, authentic.Lila's musical introduction is both ambitious and wide-ranging; a mix of indie, R&B, hip-hop, and pop, etched with the vulnerability and insight in her lyrics plucked right out of her diary. "These songs are an exploration of teenage-dom, awkward times, figuring out who you are."Explains Lila, who joins a highly respected collective of young artists currently being embraced for serving up music in the most raw and honest form, resonating more than ever with today's youth.

Mostly autobiographical, Lila Drew's music is a road map for wending her way from childhood innocence to the responsibilities of adulthood, a pathway marking her own busy life, as an 18-year-old high school senior who dreams of going to college while at the same time writing, producing and creating music in her bedroom that has gotten her recognized faster than she could have ever imagined.
Lila Drew is currently working on her debut EP set for release in early 2019.
