Shawn Mendes Sells Out His First Ever Stadium Show In Minutes
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) On the heels of his two GRAMMY nominations for "Song of the Year" and "Best Pop Vocal Album," Toronto born multi-platinum singer/songwriter Shawn Mendes sold out his first ever stadium show in his hometown of Toronto in just minutes. On September 6th, 2019 Shawn will play Rogers Centre in Toronto for the first time as a headliner. The headlining show marks his biggest to date and will wrap up the North American leg of his global arena tour. This tour date was announced earlier this month and was available for presale starting on December 5th. Alongside the Toronto tour stop announce, Shawn also announced a limited-edition merchandise collaboration with Canadian-born brand Roots, in celebration of his hometown show.

"This really was a dream come true to play the Rogers Centre in my home town," Shawn said. "And now to have sold it out is just incredible and something I could have only ever imagined."

"What an exciting day for Shawn watching him as the 1st of 3 on Taylor's 1989 tour to not only headlining but selling out his first stadium in minutes. He's always had the vision dream and determination and it has worked. I guarantee this is the 1st of many stadiums in his near future" - Louis Messina, Messina Touring Group

"Since day one, Shawn has put his all into to his live shows. We set the goal to end this tour with a sold-out stadium and achieved that faster than I think any of us expected. He always had big dreams to play big venues, and to now have risen to stadium level is just the beginning of more to come" - Andrew Gertler, Manager

Shawn's worldwide arena tour is in support of his self-titled album, Shawn Mendes released in May of this year. A one-night-only special event that will feature an extended acoustic & full tour set, the Rogers centre show will be the last stop on the North American leg. Shawn Mendes: The Tour spans over 60+ dates between North America, Europe, UK, and Australia.
