Cost Plus World Market Announces The Winner Of Its Star Maker Song Contest
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Cost Plus World Market® is excited to announce the winner of its Star Maker Song Contest is Carli Brill from Grand Terrace, California! Carli was one of more than 3,000 eligible entries and her winning submission was chosen by multi-platinum artist Jessie J!

In November, World Market® partnered with Universal Music Group and Brands and invited talented singers to enter the specialty retailer's "Star Maker Song Contest" via a singing kiosk at a participating World Market store or online at www.worldmarketwin.com. Each singer uploaded a video of themselves singing the classic holiday song, "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town," to be chosen by GRAMMY Award-nominated singer-songwriter Jessie J. Carli received the grand prize of a recording session in Hollywood with top music producer Francis Murray and a $1,000 World Market gift card. Carli's professionally-produced song will be revealed this Christmas Day on www.worldmarket.com and www.facebook.com/worldmarket.

"We are so thrilled with Jessie's choice for our Star Maker Song Contest winner. Carli is a talented and passionate musician and we wish her all the best in her musical career," said Adrian Stevens, Chief Marketing Officer, Cost Plus World Market.

Born and raised in Grand Terrace, California, Carli is one of five children and even at a young age she had a love for singing. It wasn't until her teenage years that she realized she needed to pursue music seriously when she discovered musicians like Queen, Michael Jackson and Alicia Keys. For her 14th birthday her family combined their money to purchase her first guitar and she taught herself a few chords before taking guitar lessons. Carli loved the music so much she was anxious to devote all of her time to singing and playing guitar and spent most of her days singing and playing at her local church. Following high school, she attended music school and upon graduating spent a couple of years in New York City, where she played for a newly established church. Now, Carli spends much of her time writing original music and is in the process of moving with her husband to Nashville to pursue her music career full-time.

Jessie J's version of "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town" from her new holiday album This Christmas Day is featured on World Market's holiday video that tells the story of one boy's quest to find the perfect gift: www.worldmarket.com/giftthoughtfully. Jessie J's holiday album can be purchased at select World Market stores and online at www.worldmarket.com.
