Music Group record label. Aggressive, deep in the groove, and more than a little exotic, "Black Girl Magic" showcases Lady Najm as one of the most intriguing pop and hip-hop artists of the year so far and promises that Lady Najm has plenty more where that came from.
Asked to cite some main artistic influences, the Bronx, NYC's Lady Najm writes, "As a writer and entertainer I've always highly respected Missy Elliot's works through Lady Najm's career. As an emcee I appreciate artists like Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, and Jay Z. As a multi-talented performer,
Lauryn Hill has always been an inspiration."
Lady Najm's own sound takes elements from each of these and adds a little Caribbean flair for a result unlike anything today's music fans have heard before. Asked to describe the overall meaning of "Black Girl Magic," Lady Najm says, "This song is an anthem celebrating the brilliance, strength and perseverance of melanated girls and women across the globe! This song was inspired by and dedicated to all of the magical women in my life and those I have yet to meet."
An artist from an early age, Lady Najm grew up writing Poetry and playing instruments such as the Piano, Drums, and Trombone, which Lady Najm plays professionally today. In addition to Lady Najm's vocal instrumental skills, Lady Najm is also a model, an actress, and co-star of Off-Broadway musicals such as "The Wiz." Lady Najm has written, performed and acted in commercials for cable TV, as well as having appeared live at Webster Hall, Stephen Talkhouse, Milk River, Bowery Electric, and more.
