PJ Morton Wins First Grammy!

New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Last night, PJ Morton won his first GRAMMY award for Best Traditional R&B Performance for his self-released, live rendition of "How Deep Is Your Love" (feat. Yebba). Morton celebrated three additional 2019 nominations for Best R&B Album (Gumbo Unplugged), Best R&B Performance ("First Began"), and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (Maroon 5's "Girls Like You"). After 2018 nods for Best R&B Album (Gumbo) and Best R&B Song ("First Began"), yesterday also marked the first time in history that an R&B record and its live counterpart have ever been up for consecutive Grammy honors.

After performing the Super Bowl Half Time show with Maroon 5 last weekend, and taking home the GRAMMY yesterday, 2019 is already a landmark year for Morton, but this performer-songwriter-producer-label head is just getting started. This Thursday, he reunites with Gumbo Unplugged's Matt Jones Orchestra to headline a sold-out Valentine's Day performance at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. On April 5th, he headlines the opening night of Steve McQueen's Soundtrack of America series at the eagerly anticipated new Manhattan arts center The Shed. He will also play a hometown set at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival later that month.

PJ Morton most recently teased a forthcoming JoJo collaboration, but has already begun working on multiple new recording projects, both for himself and with a number of brand new Morton Records signings. Selling out nearly all 60+ worldwide solo tour dates last year won't stop him from hitting the road again soon.
