Getter's "Visceral Live Tour" 2019 Featuring Unique Stage
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) American music producer GETTER kicked off his "Visceral Live Tour" yesterday in Portland, OR. GETTER Q&A:

What has surprised you most in your career?
In recent months, I've been so surprised by people's ability to change with the artist. I went from really heavy ignorant party music, to honest pieces of music and-to my surprise-fans have changed with it (for the most part at least). There was a lot less hate than I expected.

How do you feel your Visceral material may differ from previous songs, musically and/or lyrically?
Well my older stuff was pretty "copy and paste." I would write a drop, paste that to the second half then do an intro. It was also a lot more aggressive and I pretty much made music for club shows. Now, I think my music could fit in any setting, at least I hope so. There are some real cruel, honest songs that are specific for certain moments, but for the most part I believe my music has gotten more significant in being full songs rather than party bangers.

If you overheard one fan talking to another after leaving a show of yours, what would you like to hear them say about the gig?
I'd want them to need more music. I'd want them to remember everything and feel like they were involved. My favorite kind of shows are ones where you can't look the other way, you have to sing along, and shit like that. I think it's the certain moments in live shows that are the key to being remembered.

What advice would you give now to your younger self?
Hey, younger me. Don't be a fuckin' idiot, be careful when you party, don't trust anyone, and keep your real friends close.

What is your favorite album or songs to play on the long travel days?
Skin by flume, At The Bottom Of Everything by Bright Eyes, Marshall Mathers LP by Eminem, Visceral, and my new music.

What artists are you listening to right now?
Freddie Dredd, Comethazine, Andrew Bayer, Slaughter To Prevail, Corbin, Joji, Bobby Raps

What band or artist changed your life? How?
I think Corbin is so next level, the rawness and emotion in his lyrics literally pave their own lane for art. I feel he's our generation's Phil Collins. Very visual, honest music.

You have one question to ask one musician. What's the question, and who are you asking?
Kevin Parker from Tame Impala. I'd ask him HOWWWWWWWW DO U KILL IT SO HARD

What song should everyone listen to right now?
"SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK" by Joji

Mental health is a major topic right now in the music industry. How do you manage your well being?
Honestly, I've been having a hard time as of recent. I guess just try not to feel bad for yourself. I always get in certain moods and get hung up on it and that makes it way worse. That and making your problems funny. Try to make them into a joke. I do feel mental health is the most important topic right now and I'm so happy with that. People have to recognize important shit. We all go through shit so I think if we are all connected and helped each other, rather than poking fun and ordering artists around, people need to recognize we are all people that feel the same feelings.

You are an avid gamer. What are some of your favorite games right now and why? If you could do the soundtrack for a game, which one would it be?
APEX LEGENDS!!!! I'm a big battle royale fan and holy shit this game came out so randomly and it is so clean. It's the most fun I've had in years. If I could do a soundtrack for a game it would probably be GTA. I could put literally anything on it haha.

What are some of the places on the Visceral Live tour you are looking forward to
returning to again?
Santa Cruz is always a home for me. I love going back. I used to camp at the Catalyst with my friends to see metal shows and Andre Nickatina shows. All my old friends come out and we just raaaaage.

Can you describe your best gig ever?
My best gig ever was probably Lollapalooza a few years ago. It was the biggest crowd I've ever played (at least I think so) and I got to play new stuff, old stuff, and I even rapped a little.

If you could have a conversation with anyone who's living or dead, who would it be and why?
It would probably be Childish Gambino. He can just do everything flawlessly and I would love to ask him how he balances it all because that's my goal.

Entrepreneur, creative director, label owner are just a few titles American music producer Tanner Petulla professionally known as GETTER can claim. With the launch of his own clothing line Trippy Burger, the creation of his own record label "Shred Collective" - both sitting in multiple Zumiez stores nationwide - appearances on Last Call with Carson Daly, Real Bros of Simi Valley via Facebook Watch and consistently touring worldwide, GETTER is becoming more and more a household name. As he consistently grows as an artist, so does his musical repertoire. Evolving from aggressive basslines early in his career, dabbling in hip hop as he appears on Pouya, Dumbfoundead, and $UICIDEBOY$ albums and experimenting in metal to his current sound of vocally driven, emotional melodic blends of beats sailing buoyantly over waves of reverb and bass-there's truly no genre safe to his touch. After his highly anticipated debut album VISCERAL dropped via deadmau5's imprint mau5trap September 2018, charting at #1 on iTunes electronic and Spotify's top playlists, GETTER will be bringing his new sound and visual experience to the stage in early 2019 as he debuts VISCERAL LIVE. Expect the unexpected as GETTER expands into a new realm of artistry and pushes himself as a creative.
