NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) - Pop superstar Britney Spears told her fans via a posting on her official website (www.britneyspears.com) that she is indeed expecting a child. Spears, 23, and Federline, a 27-year-old former backup dancer in Spears' stage troupe, married secretly in September after a whirlwind romance. The 23-year-old pop star made the announcement on her website on Tuesday.

"The time has finally come to share our wonderful news that we are expecting our first child together. There were reports that I was in the hospital this weekend. Kevin and I just want everyone to know that all is well.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
Love Britney and Kevin," Spears wrote.

The fly-on-the-wall reality show was expected to premiere later this year on the American UPN cable network, but it was not immediately clear whether Spears' pregnancy would change those plans.
The show is expected to kickoff sometime this Spring.
