Singer/Songwriter Ben Jelen Plans Tour Dates Along East Cost

NEW YORK (By Tiffany Shipp/ Sunshine Consultants) - On September 15th, singer/songwriter Ben Jelen begins a limited run of acoustic shows along the East Coast to road-test new songs developed over the last year, both independently and in the studio with producer, Linda Perry (Pink, Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani).

09/15/2005 - Arlington, VA - Iota Club
09/16/2005 - Hartford, CT - Webster Underground
09/17/2005 - Baltimore, MD - Fletcher's
09/19/2005 - Philadelphia, PA - North Star Bar
09/21/2005 - Hoboken, NJ - Maxwell's
09/22/2005 - Boston, MA - Paradise Lounge

Jelen's debut album for Maverick Records entered Billboard's Top Heatseekers Chart at No 1 in April ‘04. An avalanche of praise greeted GIVE IT ALL AWAY, including countless television appearances and magazine features. Ben has been called the 'Next Big Thing' (Details Magazine), 'What's Next' (Teen People), a 'Breakout Star' (MTV), and featured by AOL as a 'Breaker' artist.

Jelen's honest lyrics and musical craftsmanship reflect a nomadic upbringing (Scotland, England, Texas, New Jersey) and hand-to-mouth existence in NYC. He perfected his skills on piano, violin, and guitar throughout his youth. After earning a biology degree from Rutgers University, he moved to NYC to work as a producer and sound-engineer before releasing Give It All Away with Maverick Records in 2004. He is currently at work recording his second album, as yet untitled, with Linda Perry in Los Angeles.
