The piano-driven pop track spent five consecutive weeks at Number One on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, and was the most played song in Europe in 2005, reaching the top spot in twelve countries, including the U.K., Australia, Japan, Canada, France and Germany.
In addition, the Vancouver native has made a series of high-profile television appearances, performing the single live on Idol's season finale, as well as on "The Today Show," "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," "Live with Regis and Kelly," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." In August, Daniel Powter will perform 3 songs on "The CBS Early Show" as part of their Summer Outdoor Concert Series.

Powter's self-titled album has been certified gold in the U.S. by the RIAA, and has sold nearly 2 million copies worldwide. This week on July 17th, he set out on his first-ever American tour, beginning in Philadelphia. The three-week trek culminates August 4th and 5th in Los Angeles, stopping at theaters across the country. A larger-scale fall tour is currently being planned.
