New York, NY (Atlantic Records) - Chicago-based hip-hop artist Lupe Fiasco will highlight the 2006 Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Game Halftime Show, broadcast live to a national television audience on Saturday, August 5 at 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. Major League Soccer's 11th annual All-Star Game features the 2006 MLS All-Star squad taking on English Premier League champions, Chelsea FC, at the brand new Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois.

1st & 15th/Atlantic recording artist Lupe Fiasco, who will be performing his hit single 'Kick, Push' during the Halftime Show, will release his debut album LUPE FIASCO'S FOOD & LIQUOR on September 19. With his first single, 'Kick, Push,' Lupe Fiasco has become a mainstay on MTV and on airwaves across the country.

'We are excited to have Lupe Fiasco performing at our annual mid-season classic,' said Soccer United Marketing Enterprises President Doug Quinn. 'With Lupe being a Chicago native, it is a perfect fit for him to perform at the new soccer-specific stadium, Toyota Park, as it hosts its first MLS All-Star game.'

Laced with tracks of thought-provoking lyricism coupled with surefire beats, LUPE FIASCO'S FOOD & LIQUOR is the eagerly awaited album from underground rap sensation Lupe Fiasco. The Chicago-based MC has been praised for his playful wordplay and complex chronicles of the streets and the suburbs, making himself known via his appearance on Kanye West's hit 'Touch The Sky,' as well as his recent role as a Reebok spokesperson. His new album will thrust Lupe Fiasco into the forefront of mainstream hip-hop.

This will be the third time that the League's best players battle one of the world's top clubs in the Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Game, which was adopted to ensure the most competitive All-Star spectacle in U.S. professional sports. Last year, the MLS All-Stars, led by MLS Honda All-Star MVP Taylor Twellman, defeated English Premier League club Fulham FC, 4-1, at a sold out Columbus Crew Stadium and in 2003, the MLS All-Stars downed storied Mexican club CD Guadalajara, 3-1, at The Home Depot Center with Carlos Ruiz capturing MVP honors.
