Sydney, AU. (EMI MUSIC Australia) - On the eve of their first shows in 2006, Little Birdy has announced a September 16 release date for their new four song single, 'Come On, Come On'.

This disc will be the first taste of the Perth band's forthcoming album 'Hollywood' - the highly anticipated follow up to their 2004 ARIA Award nominated, gold selling debut, 'Big Big Love'.

The lead track is a sassy piece of glam swagger and the single is already creating huge buzz online with over 60,000 MySpace streams of these new songs in the last 10 days alone!

Like all the tracks on 'Hollywood', 'Come On Come On' was recorded in LA with producer John King (one half of legendary production duo The Dust Brothers who've collaborated with Beck and the Beastie Boys) and engineer Clif Norrell (Weezer, REM, You Am I).

The new single is accompanied by a stunning video shot by Fifty Fifty Films (Powderfinger, Pete Murray) and the CD features three extra tracks including their sought after cover of Split Enz's 'Six Months In A Leaky Boat'.

'Hollywood' is the start of the next Little Birdy chapter - it began in late 2003 when they joined fellow Perth buzzbands The Sleepy Jackson and Eskimo Joe in creating waves nationally. Their self-titled EP (featuring 'Relapse') went top 30, BigBigLove went top 5, they made a triumphant appearance on the 2005 Big Day Out, and did a national support slot with REM and Bright Eyes before racking up loads of nominations at the ARIA Awards and cleaning up in all the end of year critics polls .

This was followed by six months of silence during which the quartet created their new songs and sounds. These will finally be revealed when their national 'Come On Come On' single launch tour begins next week.

Little Birdy are also performing at Legs 11 at The Domain on October 27 - a twilight concert in support of breast cancer research.
