NEW YORK (www.sobeentertainment.com) - Brooke Hogan, star of VH1's Hogan Knows Best and daughter of wrestling great Hulk Hogan, has taken her first step to superstardom with the release of her debut album "
Undiscovered" featuring the hit single "About Us" with multi-platinum artist Paul Wall.
Since the "About Us" premiere in June, both the single and the video have done incredibly well on the 90 million-member portal MySpace. The single has been streamed over 3.8 million times and the video has held the ranks at No 1 for 13 weeks, being played over 895,000 times.
The video for "About Us," which recently hit No 1 on the VH1 Countdown, showcases a playful Hogan sporting a custom-made dental "grill" designed by Paul Wall - which led to a Teen Choice Award for Choice Grill. The video was shot in Los Angeles under the direction of R. Malcolm Jones, with choreography by Hi Hat, and executive produced by Dave Meyers.
The punchy, rhythmic-flavored track is a testament to living in the spotlight and braving false media rumors. It was produced by Scott Storch, who has helmed projects for Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Mario and 50 Cent.
"I have had the pleasure of producing some of the biggest artists in the music industry. Real knows real. And Brooke Hogan is the real deal," Storch says. "She is an accomplished musician, singer, dancer and actress, crossing four artistic disciplines, which is unheard of in the industry today."
Hogan's spirited and demonstrative debut album "Undiscovered" personifies the multi-faceted musician's full range of talent. In addition to vocals, Brooke plays guitar and keyboards. She also contributes her own viewpoint as a co-writer of two of the songs. The project will street October 24, 2006 on SoBe Entertainment.
The video for "About Us" world-premiered on the June 25th season finale of Hogan Knows Best. Brooke Hogan's quest for a recording contract has been a primary storyline and this season followed her signing to SMC/SoBe Entertainment and the making of the video. The show is one of the highest-rated series on VH1, a network that reaches 88 million homes.
