Stone Sour Played In NY With Jimmy DeGrasso (former Megadeth drummer)

NEW YORK (Stone Sour Fans Website) - Stone Sour played the World in New York City on Tuesday night (October 15) with former Megadeth drummer Jimmy DeGrasso filling in for the injured Joel Ekman. DeGrasso had to take a crash course in Stone Sour for the band's Hartford, Connecticut gig on Friday (October 11), and he played Thursday (October 13) in Philadelphia.

The band rolls on to play West Palm Beach, Florida on Friday (October 18). Guitarist Jim Root and vocalist Corey Taylor, who are also members of Slipknot, told about Ekman's accident: "The most surreal moment for me so far has been Joel falling off the back of the stage, honestly. That really was surreal," Root said. Taylor added, "I'm gonna have to second that. It was like slow motion, like, 'Noooooooo.'"

Root continued, "I was in denial about that. Even after Ken, our tour manager, took him to the emergency room and called back and said, 'Yeah he's got a fractured wrist and a sprained knee,' I was just like, 'Well, that's cool, he'll be able to play in a day or two, right?'"

Taylor added that the band hasn't missed a beat, aside from having to reschedule its postponed Clifton Park, New York show to December 10. "The kids have really been f--king getting into it, and even when Joel hurt himself and Jimmy came in, it didn't change that much. The only thing we did was take a couple of songs out of the set list that weren't on the album and basically did the album itself. And it's been working out really f--kin' well."

Stone Sour is on the road until October 30 in Sparks, Nevada with more dates in the works.
