NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) - Tot Ou Tard/Atlantic recording artists Yael Naim & David Donatien have announced details of their upcoming North American tour. The Paris-based duo will highlight songs from their eponymous new album, which features the No 1 iTunes smash hit single, "New Soul." The tour will begin with a performance at the opening night gala for "60@60: America's Celebration of Israel's 60th Anniversary," slated for this Wednesday, May 7th at New York City's celebrated Radio City Music Hall. In June, Yael & David will embark on a series of headline dates across the continent, making eagerly anticipated stops in Philadelphia, Boston, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Montreal (see below itinerary).

"New Soul" - which is featured in the TV promotion for the new MacBook Air - is unquestionably among the breakthrough singles of 2008. The track has proven a major digital blockbuster, with total sales now nearing 850,000. Having recently debuted in the top 10 on the Billboard "Hot 100," the single is brightening up radio, climbing the airplay charts at multi-format outlets nationwide. "New Soul" is currently ascending the top 15 at Triple A, as well as the top 25 at Hot AC. Earlier this year, Yael & David made a number of major TV appearances, including visits to NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," the nationally syndicated "Ellen DeGeneres Show," and CBS' "The Early Show."

With its atmospheric blend of folk, pop, and Middle Eastern sounds, "YAEL NAIM & DAVID DONATIEN" has become a critical and popular sensation. The album sees Israel-born singer/songwriter Yael Naim teaming with West Indian multi-instrumentalist David Donatien, a collaboration resulting in a minimalist musical architecture built out of organic acoustic instruments and electronic ingenuity. The warmly provocative sound is given extraordinary life via Naim's unsettlingly pure voice and incredible agility at composition, notably on tracks such as "New Soul" and "Endless Song of Happiness."

Critical acclaim has greeted the arrival of "YAEL NAIM & DAVID DONATIEN," with Rolling Stone noting that "the parts you didn't hear on the commercial are just as good." Entertainment Weekly declared that the album "shows off (Naim's) high, quavering voice and gift for piano-based melody," while People praised the collection's unique cover of Britney Spears's "Toxic" as "intoxicating" and "torched-up." Newsweek also fell in thrall to "Toxic," calling the track "unexpected but unpretentious... its airy arrangement and jewelry-box jangle is simple and sweet, without any tedious art-house overtones."

"Donatien's arrangements sparkle," hailed Paste. "Rustic percussion and orchestral flourishes mix with hand-clapping angel choirs and occasional digital bleeps and blurps - but at times they give way to simple acoustic guitar and Naim's lovely voice." Billboard called "YAEL NAIM & DAVID DONATIEN" "simple, lilting, and lovely" and "near-perfect," summing up by inviting listeners to "Come for 'New Soul,' stay for the full meal."
