Los Angeles, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Universal Music Publishing Group) - Tom Sturges, Executive Vice President, Head of Creative, Universal Music Publishing Group, today announced the promotion of Maani Edwards to Vice President of Urban Creative Affairs, West Coast.

Reporting to Sturges, Edwards who has been with UMPG for nine years, will continue to be responsible for signing and developing urban writers, artists, and producers. In addition, Edwards will work to promote the existing catalog.

"Maani is a remarkable talent and has the ability to perceive talent in others, whether it be 50 Cent or J. Myers; Dre & Vidal or Jill Scott," said Tom Sturges. "We are thrilled to have Maani as a key member of the Universal Music Publishing Group Creative team."

Other signings and collaborations which Edwards played a key part in include: Babyface, Swizz Beatz, Mannie Fresh, Fantasia, Jim Jones, Nisan Stewart, Ivan & Carvin, and Nottz.

Edwards' fifteen-year music publishing career has seen him work with many influential writers and performers. He will continue his work with a stable of writers that include 50 Cent, Amerie, Ashanti, Clarence Avant/Interior Music Corporation, Babyface, Black Jeruz, Brian Alexander Morgan, Cashis, Carnival Beats, Chris James, Dave Morris, Fantasia, Flip Matrix, Freeway, George Duke, Ivan Barias & Carvin Haggins, Jill Scott, Jim Jones, Kem, Juelz Santana, Mannie Fresh, Megahertz, "Floetry" Natalie Stewart, Nisan Stewart, Rap Hustlaz, Self, Sha Money XL, Swizz Beatz, Toxic, Dre & Vidal, Manuel Seal, Keyshia Cole, Mobb Deep, and Lupe Fiasco.
