LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ KJAZZ 88.1 FM) - Inside Latin Jazz is the Ruth B. Shannon Center's newest series-and is set to debut with International Saxophonist Justo Almario on November 13th and 14th. Inside Latin Jazz will offer fascinating and penetrating onstage interviews and a concert. Moderated by flute soloist and Professor at Whittier College, Danilo Lozano, these two nights are sure to be on everyone's list to attend. Presented by Whittier College Music Department and Emerson Bran Management, expect an amazing lineup of Latin Jazz musicians with the Inside Latin Jazz series in 2009.

"I love to perform in an intimate setting where we can be closer to the audience and be able to interact with them," Justo Almario says. Justo Almario's offerings are expressive, romantic, and up-tempo passages that take you to the contemporary elegance of the Latin jazz culture. He adds, "The Afro-Colombian Ensemble is a different and refreshing offering that we bring, as most people always connect Latin Jazz with Cuban Rhythms or music." Justo Almario is known for connecting to his listeners on many levels, and with Danilo Lozano as the moderator you can only expect a cocktail of fun.

"I'm excited to have Justo Almario debut Inside Latin Jazz," says Danilo Lozano. He adds, "The series will give everyone a chance to get to know some of the best Latin Jazz artists. It will be an opportunity for them to not only listen to them perform, but also walk home with a close look at their personal life, music, and careers." Danilo Lozano and Justo Almario have worked together over the years with Cachao, Andy Garcia, Jazz On the Latin Side, and also in various recordings.

Justo Almario is more than an entertainer; he is a master of the rhythms that have been recognized internationally and reached millions worldwide. Most recently, Justo Almario was featured in the Kung Fu Panda's (Dreamworks) original musical score. On November 13th, Justo Almario will be all ears and open to questions by the audience at the Shannon Center's Robinson Theater. As part of Inside Latin Jazz series, on November 14th, Justo and his Afro-Colombian Ensemble will be featured in a concert performance.

Sponsored by Jazz and Blues station KJAZZ 88.1 FM, Inside Latin Jazz will be the first of its kind at Whittier College, allowing for an exclusive ninety minutes Q& A session with Justo Almario and many other Latin Jazz artists. Inside Latin Jazz's mission is to feature the finest Latin Jazz artists. The next edition of the Inside Latin Jazz is scheduled for January 2009!
