New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Mark O'Connor's recent concert at the Library of Congress with Rosanne Cash was a resounding success. Playing a priceless violin from the Library's own collection, the Guarnerius once owned by violinist/composer Frits Kreisler, O'Connor opened the show by performing his work inspired by the life and music of Johnny Cash, 'Poets and Prophets', accompanied by Melissa Marse on piano and Arash Amini on cello. "O'Connor's fiddle and Amini's cello lines darted around each other," wrote The Washington Post, "as if they were the musical embodiment of Johnny and his wife June Carter moving backstage at the Grand Ole Opry. "

Rosanne Cash next took the stage, performing selections from her album 'Black Cadillac'. To round out the evening, the two superstars performed together, making a "stew of classical, folk, light rock, and jazz" which "gelled into something rare and memorable," according to the Post.

O'Connor's next performance will be at New York City's Symphony Space, with Grammy-Award-winning classical guitarist Sharon Isbin, on January 23rd, 2009. The two will be performing a collaborative concert that will feature his composition for violin and guitar, the Strings & Threads Suite.
