RECORD OF THE WEEK

Craig David ft. Sting - Rise and Fall Highly anticipated new single from Craig David duetting with Sting for his new single Rise and Fall, which uses a melody from Shape of my heart originally recorded by Sting himself. Craig David seems to be going from strength to strength at the moment; at his pinnacle in America and riding the crest of a well received, highly acclaimed new album, it's pretty fair to say that the Southampton singer has well and truly hit his stride. One of the standouts from his recent album, 'Rise & Fall' finds him in a vocal sparring match with the one and only Sting. A laid back, mellow cocktail of r'n'b, soul and pop, it's a superb single, and one that confirms Craig David, as one of the finest singer/songwriters the UK currently has to offer.

HOT SHOT RECORD

Tomcraft - Loneliness Huge electro-tinted trancer that's already looking like a big summer anthem. This is it, the first step in the punk-trance revolution. Currently captivating dancefloors all over the world, DJ Tomcraft's sleazy-synth, electro-tinted trance epic 'Loneliness' finally gets a full release on Data Recordings this week. Best described as Fischerspooner getting the once over by Ferry Corsten, this massive anthem in waiting also comes with some way cool remixes. Benny Benassi delivers a funky electro stomper full of beefed up synths and catchy vocal loops.

ALSO RELEASED

Dana Glover - Thinking Over Hailing from North Carolina, via Nashville, Los Angeles and New York City, Dana Glover is the latest highly acclaimed US singer-songwriter looking to spread their word on these shores. The first single from the forthcoming album, 'Testimony', 'Thinking Over' is a gorgeous, simple lament, which blends Dana's impressive vocals and piano skills with a beautiful and uplifting string arrangement.

Ronan Keating - The Long Goodbye / Love Won't Work (If We Don't Try) The final single to be taken from the double platinum selling 'Destination' album, this sentimental ballad - co written by Irish singer-songwriter Paul Brady - is also a song that holds particularly affection with Ronan himself. Touching, uplifting and, as usual with Ronan, effortlessly catchy 'Long Goodbye' rounds off a brilliant year for the talented singer.

Kid Creme ft. Charlise - Hypnotising Belgium is currently enjoying something of a musical renaissance at the moment. It's contributions to genres like electro and techno are not in doubt, but it seems that now they're making waves in the house arena, with Kid Creme (and Junior Jack) leading the way. New on Positiva, with a vocal from rising star Charlise Rookwood, this funky slab of filtered dancefloor funk also comes with a slamming new 'Fashionista' mix for 2003

Killer Mike ft. Big Boi - A.D.I.D.A.S. 'A.D.I.D.A.S' (aka 'All Day I Dream About Sex') is the first single to come from Killer Mike's highly anticipated, soon-to-be-released debut album, 'Monster' - already a Top 10 hit on the US Billboard Chart. A rugged, raw, real and relentlessly funky return to hip-hop's halcyon hey-day, 'A.D.I.D.A.S' also features a show-stopping appearance from Outkast's Big Boi (Mike is after all the first signing to the Outkast duo's Aquemini Records).

Lil' Kim ft. Mr Cheeks - The Jump Off The self-styled 'Queen Bee' of rap returns with the first single from her new album, La Bella Mafia. The Jump Off is everything we have come to expect from the majority of big-budget, commercial rap music. That equates to funkin' beats, some clever samples and an all-round flawless production, courtesy of the seemingly ubiquitous Timberland. If such things do not bother you, be warned, however, that The Jump Off is not the strongest tune Lil' Kim has come up with either. Presumably the new album is a lot stronger.

Puretone - Stuck In A Groove Following the hugely infectious 'Addicted To Bass', which peaked in the UK charts at an impressive number two last year and remains a radio fave to this day, Puretone return with the equally monstrous, breakbeat driven track, 'Stuck In A Groove'. Following a similar line to its predecessor, all catchy female vocals and bouncy, rib cage rattling beats and bass.

Revelation - Just Be Dub To Me In the current climate of trance covers, Revelation's remake of the classic SOS band track 'Just Be Good To Me' manages to cut through the cheese and deliver a huge slab of peak time dancefloor action. Featuring the vocals of UK singer-songwriter Clare Pearce around a euphoric, uplifting trance backdrop, 'Just Be Dub To Me' is already getting many top jocks excited and, thanks to a new Divine Inspiration mix, looks like crossing over to the mainstream even further.

Kelly Rowland - Can't Nobody Can't Nobody do it like Kelly Rowland - that's what this single should really be called! What a six months; her Nelly duet ('Dilemma') entered the charts last year at number one, the solo debut single, 'Stole', crashed at number two and the long-awaited 'Simply Deep' album then entered the UK charts at number one. A staggering achievement, but now she returns with her brilliant new single, the aptly titled 'Can't Nobody'. One of the album's finest, this spiky, 80's influenced urban anthem is already moving the scene's best dancefloors.

Armin Van Buuren - Yet Another Day Widely accepted as one of the world's biggest trance stars, Armin van Buuren returns to the Nebula imprint with another uplifting slab of peak time trance, this time in the shape of the anthemic 'Yet Another Day'. Featuring the unique vocals of Ray Wilson, front man for Genesis and number one early '90's rock outfit Stiltskin, this track has huge summer hit written all over.
