Laguna Beach, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Alfadog Music) - Jack Palti of "The Medallions" describes their music as "Roots Rhythm and Blues". The band originally formed in 1954. Their new single called "Don't Drink And Drive" is now available at all major online distributors. This 7 piece band has opened for acts such as Little Richard, Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson,Hank Ballard and many others. The group formed in 1954 with 16 year old Vernon Green singing and writing songs like "Buick 59". The song was written and recorded five years ahead of its time because Vernon wanted the song to have a 5 year shelf/radio life. Several of the group's songs charted well on the west coast and in several eastern cities. The Medallions were the first vocal group to sign with Dootone Records. Mr. Green passed away on Christmas eve 2000. Since 2007, The Medallions have reformed and continue to push onward with new music. Their music includes a wide variety of instruments including drums, bass, horns, keys, guitars, with great vocals and harmonies. They combine their 40+ years of experience for an authentic sound, created to be enjoyed. Their web site features a music player for listening to their tunes, including their new single! The Medallions are hoping to include their new single "Don't Drink And Drive" in a nationwide commercial. They have also presented the song to M.A.D.D. (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) for possible use. On October 17, 2009, the group will unite for a performance at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, California.
