NEW YORK, NY (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) - Weeks after the release of his sophomore solo album "cradlesong," multiple Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Rob Thomas continues to dazzle with the first single "Her Diamonds," and makes Billboard chart history as the only male artist with multiple No 1 HITS at Adult Top 40. With this coronation, Thomas ties Pink with the most No. 1's by a solo artist in the chart's history, according to Billboard.com. "Her Diamonds" is the No 1 song at HOT AC in the U.S., No 1 at all radio formats in Australia, the No 1 video on VH1 "Top 20 Countdown," and knocked off the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, from the No 1 slot on iTunes in Australia, capping off a dizzying promotional run that included performances and appearances on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," "The View," "Fox & Friends," a summer concert series performance on "The Today Show" and "The Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" - all chronicled by Thomas and followed by thousands of fans on his official Twitter page @ThisIsRobThomas.

On August 31st, Thomas will do a very special performance at the Opening Night Ceremony of the 2009 US Open's "Athletes Who Give Back" event. This special evening of tennis and charity celebrates athletes who have devoted their energies to supporting causes and this year includes Andre Agassi, Mia Hamm, David Robinson and Doug Flutie. ESPN2 will air the event in its entirety.

On September 23rd in Hollywood, FL, Thomas will kick off "the cradlesong tour '09," his second full-fledged solo tour and the first in support of his new Emblem/Atlantic Records release. The tour will include special guests One Republic and Carolina Liar and concludes with a three-night, sold out stand at New York's famed Beacon Theater beginning on November 11th. For further tour information, go to www.robthomasmusic.com.

In addition, this fall also marks another milestone in Thomas' collaboration with Bloomingdale's with the release of the new Men's Fall Catalogue which puts Thomas on the cover. The relationship began with the Bloomingdale's debut of a limited edition apparel collection inspired by Thomas' evocative song lyrics created in conjunction with Lyric Culture and is sold exclusively in Bloomingdale's stores nationwide. Thomas is the first contemporary artist to partner with Lyric Culture which also features apparel inspired by the lyrics of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and David Bowie.

Rob Thomas is one of the most distinctive vocalists and accomplished songwriters in contemporary music, garnering a string of accolades - both for his work as lead singer and primary composer with matchbox twenty as well as for his solo work and collaborations with other artists. In 2004, the Songwriters Hall of Fame presented Thomas with its premier "Starlight Award" - created to recognize a songwriter in the early years of his or her career that has already made a lasting impact. He has won numerous BMI and ASCAP Awards, and has earned the Songwriter of the Year crown from both Billboard and BMI, two years in a row.

Thomas has written and performed a remarkable string of hits, including matchbox twenty's No 1-charting "Push," "3AM," "If You're Gone," "Bent," "Disease," and "Unwell," plus such favorites as "Real World," "Back 2 Good," "Mad Season," and "Bright Lights." His smash collaboration with Santana, the Thomas-penned "Smooth," earned Rob three Grammy Awards and ranks No 1 on Billboard's "Top Hot 100 Rock Songs" chart and No 2 on the magazine's "Hot 100 All-Time Top Songs." He has also worked with the likes of Willie Nelson, Mick Jagger, Marc Anthony and Bernie Taupin. Combining all of his projects, Thomas has contributed to sales of more than 80 million records.
