New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Indiegrrl PR) - Holiday Inn World's Fair Park at the Knoxville Expo Center is the site for the2010 Indiegrrl International Music & Art Conference & Festival on August 19 to 22 with a theme 'Taking It To The Streets'. Venues and art galleries in the Old City and Market Square areas of downtown Knoxville will host the showcases. KnoxIvi will do live video streaming online and WDVX Radio will broadcast live some of the showcase artists during the Blue Plate Special shows at the Knoxville Visitors Center and The Square Room both located in Market Square. Media sponsors WDVX Radio, Writers Block Radio Show, and The Metro Pulse entertainment magazine, are all heavily promoting this event to make sure the general public is aware of the many showcase artists coming into Knoxville from around the world.

This event will showcase some of the top Indie female artists from around the world. Some of the headlining artists are award winning singer songwriter Jen Foster from Nashville, Guitar Player Magazine 'Guitar Player of the Year' winner Vicki Genfan from Fairview, NJ, local Knoxville award winning singer songwriter Karen E. Reynolds, Tori Sparks from Nashville who is considered one of the hardest working independents in the industry, and Nashville native, Suzi Ragsdale who virtually cut her teeth in the recording studio with her father singer/songwriter Ray Stevens singing on his Grammy Award winning smash, 'Everything Is Beautiful'. Some of the International artists already confirmed are Gilli Moon from Australia, Amy Campbell, Sara Kamin, Anna Gutmanis, Susan Bullen (Kobra & The Lotus), all from Canada. Other notables are Jen Justice Band from Chicago, Gatlinburg based duo Pea Pickin' Hearts, Nashville artist Joelle Maddyson, Internationally touring award winning songwriter Sonya Heller from New York City, and Vicki Blankenship and her Atlanta based band 'The Posse'. Blankenship is the Founder/ President of Indiegrrl Women in the Arts nonprofit that produces this event and produces other festivals as well as a music and art camp for children in Mineral Bluff, GA. This event will also feature some up and coming young artists like 19 year old Merry Ellen Kirk from Nashville and 13 year old singer songwriter Hayley Reardon from Marblehead, MA.

This event is for all ages both women and men, and it does not matter what stage you are in with your career. Some of the confirmed workshop presenters, panelists, and speakers are Barbara Cloyd (Blue Bird Cafe' Nashville), Bill Pere (President Connecticut Songwriters Association), Todd Steed (AC Entertainment), Jason Wilbern (Sure Fire Music Inc.), Robin Taylor Drake (Trio Productions), Karen E Reynolds (Sound Advice & Writers Block), Gilli Moon (Songsalive! and Warrior Girl Music), Bob Kilgore (Harmonic Capo), Vicki Genfan (Slap-Tap and Alternate Tunings Specialist) and much more. This event is a great networking experience for everyone starting with the kickoff party on Thursday evening that will feature free finger foods and a cash bar to be followed by some exciting main stage headliners.

Conference pass is $100 for the early bird rate if purchased by July 16. After that the walk up rate is $150.
For the general public wanting to come see the showcase artists, a special $10 arm band will be sold each day/night at the Holiday Inn World's Fair Park and Expo Center or you can purchase a $20 arm band that will get you in to all the showcases on all three nights.
