Sevierville, TN (Top40 Charts/ Morristown Main Street Festival) - Sevier county's rockin' bluegrass band "The Grassabillies" will bring their high energy acoustic show to the Morristown Main Street Festival on Friday July 23rd. The Morristown Main Street Festival is presented by the Downtown Morristown Association and the Morristown crossroads Partnership - A certified Tennessee Main Street Program. The theme of the July 23rd festival is stepping back in time to the days when travelers made their way through the area up the famous Buffalo Trail Rd on across Clinch mountain and through the Cumberland Pass to head North into Kentucky and Ohio then out West. Famous folks such as Daniel Boone blazed the trail and Morristown was the childhood home of Davy Crockett. Festival organizer Darrell Williams said "The Grassabillies blend of Bluegrass, Country, Western and Rockabillly music is the perfect fit for this Festival!" The Festival will also feature a Cowboy Hat Contest and Hoop Dancing Demonstrations by Ali Blair. Festival goers are encouraged to wear a cowboy hat or go all out and wear a western outfit or a pioneer outfit (prairie dress, etc.).
