New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ El Museo Del Barrio) - El Museo del Barrio announced that Summer Nights, its popular Latin music free concert series, will take place on eight consecutive Thursday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00pm, June 10 - August 5, 2010. Summer Nights presents national and international artists and musicians appealing to audiences of all ages and interests, performing a mixture of rhythms, from Jazz, Electronic, and Folkloric Music, to a blend of Afro Cuban Rhythms.

The talented performers and varied genres featured in this series include Karla Lara's Honduran folk songs; Chico Mann's fusion of Afro-Cuban rhythms; Folklore Urbano's unique mix of jazz and Colombian folkloric music; Johnny Ray & Salsa con Clase's salsa tunes; King Chango''s exhilarating switches from Latin Ska to African funk to bluesy rock; Nina Sky's blend of hip hop and Latin; Pasha Massive's funky bilingual fusion of traditional Latin rhythms; Sweet Electra's mix of acid cabaret, deep house, trip-hop, jazz and bossa nova; and Yerason's great Cuban charanga sound.

Summer Nights is part of an extensive summer calendar of programs presented by El Museo spearheaded by Museum Mile Festival on June 8th, including our monthly Super Saba'dos and Barrio Book Club series; outdoor film screenings in collaboration with Rooftop Films; children's theater in partnership with Teatro Stage Fest; our first New York City Gay Pride celebration event, The Legendary Project; additional music concerts, and more.

El Museo del Barrio is located in 1230 Fifth Avenue, at 104th Street, and its open from Wednesdays - Sundays from 11:00am - 6:00pm
