New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Popkomm Official Website) - Popkomm 2010 has engaged the support of expert partners to ensure a smooth start-up to its operations at Tempelhof, the former airport in Berlin. Companies from various sectors are ensuring that Popkomm is an even greater attraction to both trade visitors and the general public.
This is the first time Popkomm has agreed a partnership with the Spanish Festival Primavera Sound (PrimaveraPro). Primavera Sound is a benchmark for indie music, takes place once a year in Barcelona, and is a perfect platform for meeting and exchanging views with music industry pros. Popkomm and Primavera Sound are planning to exchange artists in the future, creating a musical link between two of Europe's leading showcase festivals.
2010 not only sees Barcelona and Berlin establishing musical ties. Popkomm is also uniting two other closely linked sectors: fashion and music. For ten years the fashion company New Yorker has been cooperating with Popkomm and this year it is one of the music and entertainment fair's main sponsors. New Yorker is represented in the Market Place with its fashion items and is also responsible for the design of the traditional Popkomm bag.
Other sponsors include the media partners MyVideo, tape.tv and VIP-Booking. MyVideo is among those responsible for organising the acoustic stage, the so-called Music City, in the entrance hall at Tempelhof Airport. Germany's biggest music and video platform is hosting live performances by the artists Oceana und Leon Taylor on the Popkomm stage. Every month 8.6 million users are able to view more than 30,000 official videos from leading artists and labels. Users can also compile individual playlists and share them with friends.
Also introducing themselves to the public at Music City are tape.tv, who supply personalised music viewing at a mouse click. The Berlin-based music channel has been providing easy-to-use editorial formats and personalised entertainment since July 2008. tape.tv combines the simplicity of a television with the intelligence of the internet and is redefining television entertainment. The network collaborates with all the major music labels and finances its services through advertising.
VIP-Booking is also represented with a stand at Popkomm, where the market leader will have all its services on display. The company's database currently lists more than 20,000 contacts, of which festivals, promoters, booking agencies and venues in over 40 countries make use.
strasserauf GmbH makes sure enough electrical energy is available to trade visitors and members of the media at Popkomm at all times. The D?^(o)sseldorf-based company's portable charging units in the press area, conference rooms, or for example in the mStore Business Centre, ensure that technical equipment such as mobiles, digicams, MP3 players etc. are always operational and that batteries are always full.
Berliner Pilsner is this year's beer brewery officially partnering Popkomm. The smooth and fresh tasting premium beer from the capital is as colourful, unmistakable, innovative, unique and future-oriented as the international meeting place of the music industry itself.
TOURALARM UG is the partner operating shuttle services and provides Popkomm with vehicles and drivers. The company is also represented with one stand each in both the trade visitor area and the section for the general public. Inside the lounge-like surroundings of the "Roadoffice", a 20-metre long truck at the main entrance to Tempelhof airport, visitors can see how the company works and inspect an original tour bus.
