Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ Mad Racquet) - Still riding the momentum and buzz created by their last release 'Kalliba EP' by James Hannan, which has been picked up to feature on the forthcoming Marco V compilation 'The art of', Bad Cake Records momentarily switch from their progressive sound to more house flavours for their third release Mad Racquet's 'Fawlty Beats' and what a very special release it's going to be, for the story of its inception is as bizarre as it is incredulous. With Support from the likes of Burn The Negative, Richard Norris, Mickey Nightrain, Colin Peters, Blank & Jones, Luke Branaccio and DJ Soydon to name but a few.

A Mysterious Rendezvous:

While on tour in Eastern and Central Europe, Bad Cake is enjoying the sights, sounds and scents of Vaci Utca, Budapest. From the corner of his eye he spies a scruffy dark skinned street urchin sidling towards him; instinctively covering his wallet as he awaits the usual spiel of sorrow, loss and pleading. But that isn't the little guy's plan on this day; He approaches Bad Cake, says 'Hallgasd meg ezt' in a kind but insistent tone, and presses something into Bad Cake's hand and scurries away. Looking down he finds he is holding a CD with the same legend penned across it.

Four slices of perfectly executed house music sprinkled with the organic magic of traditional instrumentation, primed to rock either an urban dance floor or a forested camp fire setting with ease.

'Crooked Cat' sees the church organ reappear, with a transcending and eerie gothic melody, horn stabs, cryptic vocal samples and a twisted breakdown guaranteed to start freaking with your frontal lobes.

'The Little Thief' is a sneaky one, if the main melody, which slinks before you like a warped pied piper, doesn't seduce you to the dance floor, the infectious strutting rhythm will.

'Violalated' has it all, pounding beats, a bass that seems to be heralding the imminent arrival of the Tardis, stuttered swooshes, a beguiling viola riff and a church organ soaked breakdown that is spacious and damn effective in its hand raising lushness.

'Esta Loco' evokes the expansive steppe of Hungary, horses and their masters set up camp and get down to an enticing bass groove enhanced by staccato mandolin and accordion melody.

The work of a man who was handed the keys to the electronic throne room but instead of donning the crown, chooses to live a nomadic life, secreted inside the gypsy sub culture of central Europe, is something that compels itself heard. A mix of the familiar peppered with the exoticism and sublime ambiguity of an outlandish lifestyle, 'Fawlty Beats' by Mad Racquet is proudly released on Bad Cake Records from today available through beatport, juno, itunes etc etc etc
